Guadalupe Jimenez Gutierrez 
May 29, 1934 - August 17, 2005 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 20th, 9:30 a.m., at The 
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2801 South Real Rd., Bakersfield, 
CA. Guadalupe was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 
She was born May 29, 1934, in Gaumuabe Tamaulips, Mexico. Guadalupe met and 
married Juan Lucero Gutierrez on November 11, 1950. She enjoyed the family 
gatherings and family vacations. She embraced and accepted everybody. She was 
not judgmental and welcomed anyone into the family. Her greatest joys were her 
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 
her parents, Genaro and Josefina Jimenez; her son-in-law, Rudy Serrano; and 
her granddaughter, Maria Luisa Jimenez. She is survived by her husband of 55 
years, Juan Lucero Gutierrez; their six daughters and their spouses: Francisca 
Serrano of Bakersfield, Dora and Heliodoro Jimenez of Arkansas, Connie and 
Jessie Gomez of Bakersfield, Avelina and Fernando Toy of Montebello, Josefina 
and Gamillia of Bakersfield, and Maria and Jonathan Magno of Bakersfield; 
their five sons and their spouses: Juan Gutierrez of Bakersfield, Joe and Judi 
Gutierrez of Bakersfield, Cris and Elizabeth Gutierrez of Bakersfield, Jessie 
and Shirley Gutierrez of Bakersfield and Freddie and Rosa Gutierrez of 
Westminster; 43 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and expecting 3 more 
this year. Pallbearers will be Rudy Serrano Jr., Heliodoro Jimenez, Ricky 
Serrano, Anthony Toy, Juan Jimenez, Michael Gutierrez, Richard Gomez, Alex 
Lopez, Jesse Sanchez, Samuel Marabilla, Gabriel Martinez, and Andrew Gomez. 
Honorary Pallbearers are Jonathan Magno, Juan Gutierrez, Fernando Toy, Bryan 
Magno, Michael Toy, Joseph Gutierrez, Jacob Gutierrez, and Brandon Magno. Rose 
Carriers: Esther Rios, Amanda Watson, Kristina Avalos, Ruthy Serrano, Dora 
Jimenez, and Kristeen Gutierrez. Rose Pedal Basket Holders: Christina 
Gutierrez, Corina Gomez, Tahnie Gutierrez, Trisha Gutierrez, Tiffany 
Gutierrez, Jennifer Magno, Stephanie Gutierrez and Jessica Gutierrez. The 
family would like to thank all who helped out during this hard time. A special 
thank you goes out to Optimal Hospice for their love and support. They are an 
excellent organization. We could not have done it without them. We would also 
like to thank Dr. Paul Miller for his medical care and especially his love and 
generosity. A viewing service celebrating Guadalupes life will be held today, 
Friday, August 19th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial 
Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane.
