Clifford R. Harris 
1914 - 2005 

A memorial service will be held for Clifford R. Harris on Tuesday, October 18, 
2005, at Daybreak Baptist Church, 5446 Taft Highway, in Bakersfield. A family 
burial will be held in Paso Robles on Friday, October 21, 2005. Cliff was born 
on April 22, 1914, in Pleyto, California, on land his parents homesteaded near 
Paso Robles. He moved to King City, California where he graduated from High 
School and found employment. He moved to Bakersfield in the 1950s where he 
raised his family. Cliffs passion was flying and aviation, and though he held 
many jobs and was self-employed much of his lifetime, he was happiest when his 
job involved flying an airplane. Cliff is survived by his beloved wife of 
almost 4 years, Ruth Harris; son, Stephen Harris; daughter, Judy Byrd and 
husband, Mel; stepdaughter, Pat Eyraud and husband, Eddie; stepson, Don Baker 
and wife, Stephanie, all of Bakersfield; brothers, Wayne Harris of Paso Robles 
and Dale Harris of British Columbia; grandchildren, Kelvin Byrd and wife, 
Tracy, Trisha Byrd of Bakersfield, Tawni Willhoite and Heather Ball of Fresno 
and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cliff became a 
believer in Jesus Christ at an early age and met Him face to face last 
Tuesday, when his earthly body gave out. He will be greatly missed by all of 
us who knew and loved him.
