Robert Wendell Harris 
Services: Sun., Oct. 16, 2:00 p.m. 

Robert Wendell Harris born December 4, 1949, in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Passed away 
October 14, 2005, at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his 
loving wife, Karen; loving son, Robert; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Brooke 
and Katlyn Harris. Preceded in death by his father, Ernest Harris; mother, 
Rhoda Lucille DeWig and stepfather, Jack DeWig. Lovingly survived by his 
brothers and sisters, Ronald Harris, Roy and Rebecca Harris, Kenneth and Rose 
Harris and Patricia and Dale Ross; mother and father-in-law, Virginia and Roy 
Alverson; sister-in-law, Debbie Stevens; brother-in-law, Michael Lussenden and 
numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Robert was also very well loved 
and respected by many friends. He loved and served his country, being a proud 
veteran of the Vietnam War. He most of all loved and cherished his family and 
friends, the times he spent in the mountains, fishing and hunting. Robert 
received the gift of life with two transplants, a kidney and pancreas in 1995. 
He and his family are forever grateful for the added years this gift of love 
gave them. The memorial service honoring his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on 
Sunday, October 16, 2005, at the Higher Ground Church, 912 New Stine, in 
Bakersfield.
