Cleo was born in Menno, South Dakota on September 21, 1917 to Albert and Pauline Heiser and she was the middle daughter of five children. Surrounded by her family, Cleos spirit departed this earth peacefully on November 19, 2005 and was united with her Heavenly Father. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Alfred; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Jan Wedel; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and her sister, Carol Hepp of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Cleo married Alfred Wedel on September 18, 1942 and they resided in Shafter their entire married life. After working 29 years for Stringhams and Shafter Drug Stores, Cleo jointly retired with her husband. They then began many enjoyable years of AARP trips with friends. Later, they enjoyed further adventures traveling with their trailer and with Cleos sister, Francis and brother-in-law, Lowell and with many other couples who shared this interest. Cleo is to be remembered for her love of people, enjoyment of laughter, ability to be a good friend, generous heart, hospitality, hard work ethic, self-discipline, belief in excellence, loyalty to family, her trust and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for being a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She will always be missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank all the dedicated and loving caregivers at Shafter Convalescent Hospital, Optimal Hospice, and her extended church family at Valley Bible Church.
