Services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in the Mission Family Great Room, 531 California Avenue, in Bakersfield, CA. A native of Alabama, she moved with her family to California at the age of three, ultimately settling and living in Bakersfield. A graduate of Bakersfield High School, she spent 29 years working at Memorial Hospital as a Diet-Aide. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, friends and her cats. She never failed to be there for anyone in a time of need or to give us a kick in the pants and let us know when we werent living up to her expectations. Her strong caring spirit provided the strength and foundation for our family and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Pendleton and their children and their spouses, Jerry Jr. and Brenda Pendleton of Bakersfield, and Jason and Jodi Pendleton of Lawrence, Kansas; her grandchildren, which were the light of her life include Jerry (JT), Breanna, Josh, Nathan, and Nicholas Pendleton, and Krystan, John, Italia and Morgan Dutton; her brother, Jack Hobson and his wife, Caroline; her brother-in-law, JR Pendleton and her sisters-in-law, Phyliss Pendleton and Dorothy Youngblood and her aunt, Lois White. Her motherly love also included Chris and Lyn Dutton of Bakersfield, California, and the Rocha Family, also of Bakersfield, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for her, especially Dr. Matuk and her staff as well the outstanding ICU at Mercy Hospital. She was a wonderful wife, mom and grandmother whose impact on those she knew will live on in our hearts and minds.
