He was a technical writer for Douglas Aircraft for 30 years and was a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Escondido for 1-1/2 years. He enjoyed playing pinochle, woodworking, traveling and spending time with his family. Earl lived in Escondido only 1-1/2 years after living many years in Tehachapi. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Stella Hoch; his sons Richard of Riverside and Robert of San Diego; daughter Marilyn Harris of Escondido; brother George of Newbury Park; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. There was a viewing at the Holy Cross Mortuary and a Mass at the Holy Cross Cemetery Holy Redeemer Chapel in Culver City on Sept. 21.
