Hilda was born in Kerman, California, on December 1, 1912. Hilda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who truly loved and cared about her family. She lived an adventurous life and had done many different things in her lifetime. She lost her mother at an early age and had her father and five brothers to raise her. Hilda was a hard worker, always spoke her mind and loved to be around people. She will be deeply missed by her friends and loved ones. She and her husband of 75 years, Roy, had traveled throughout the United States and lived in many places. Over the years, they had taught square dancing and were recreation directors at a mobile home park in Phoenix, Arizona, had owned and operated a large campground in Minnesota and a small campground in Yellowstone in their later years. After their retirement, they moved to Ojai, California, and then to Taft to be near their family. She was preceded in death by her only child, Roy Houchin Jr., and her grandson, Steve Houchin. She leaves behind her husband, Roy Houchin; brother, Gordon McMillan; daughter-in-law, Ann Houchin; granddaughter, Sherry Scott and her husband Rick; great-grandsons, Damien Lopez and Austin Lopez and his children Hailee, Dawson and Bradyn. Also her sister-in-law, Phyllis McMillan; niece, Linda Griffith and her husband, Chuck; and nephew, Dennis McMillan and his wife, Cathy. There will be no visitation or services at Hilda's request.
