Delbert H. Hughes 
Services: Wed., Oct. 26, 11:00 a.m. 

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., 
for Delbert H. Hughes, 84, who passed away October 23, 2005. John L. Lupin 
will officiate. Mr. Hughes was born on June 12, 1921, in Yukon, Missouri. He 
had worked as a truck driver for 47 years carrying livestock. He was a member 
of the Teamster Union. Delbert served his country with honor and pride. During 
his service tour of duty he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, 
Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 BS Good Conduct Medal, World War II 
Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. Delbert was preceded in death by 
his wife, Oleta Hughes on November 29, 2003, son Charles Hughes and brothers 
John and Harry Hughes. He is survived by his daughters, Beverley Hughes of 
North Carolina, Barbara Dooley and husband, Jerry of Oklahoma, Brenda Fiske 
and husband, Howard of Bakersfield, Shirley Schaeff and husband, Ernie of 
Florida and Linda Lupin and husband, John of Oklahoma; sons, Russell Hughes 
and wife, Tammy and Kenny Hughes and wife, Jennie all of Bakersfield; 23 
grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Casketbearers will be Howard Fiske 
Jr., Mike Hughes, Kenneth Hughes, Troy Hughes, Keith Woods and Jason Woods. 
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
