Hunt and passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2006. He was raised in Bakersfield, graduated from Kern Union High School and Bakersfield Junior College. He attended the University of California at Los Angeles and Fresno State College. Dick enlisted in the U.S. Navy at Midshipman School in Chicago, IL. After completing intensive flight training in Jacksonville, FL, he was commissioned to Ensign. He was attached to the USS Suwannee Aircraft Carrier from which he flew many missions into battle. Dick was decorated as a fighter pilot and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He was also a flight instructor. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he and two partners formed a real estate business in Bakersfield. He moved to Fresno in 1971 and was employed by Guarantee Financial as a Real Estate Appraiser. He retired in 1985. Dick was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and backpacking. After retirement, he spent time traveling, playing golf, enjoying the family cabin at Wilsonia and boating. He also did volunteer work such as transporting cancer patients for treatment. Dick was past president of Kiwanis Club of North Fresno, member of Sierra Branch of Sirs, California Scottish Rite Foundation and Libertas-Security Lodge No. 466 Free and accepted Masons of California. He was a serious student of the Bible. He attended Peoples Church. Dick was the family patriarch and mentor. His priority was his family. He enjoyed life, had a wonderful smile and was loved and respected by everyone. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his first wife, Carmen; a son, Jerry; a brother, Gerald Hunt; and a sister, Clara Lou Snook. Dick is survived by his wife, Rexene; his two children, son, Rick and his wife, Linda; daughter, Dru Quesnoy and her husband, Gene; two stepchildren, Ronnette Pittman and her husband, Mike and Sterling Reid; four grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at San Joaquin Gardens. A memorial service was held at Yost & Webb Chapel on Friday, January 28, 2006.
