Harris Nov. 24, 1923 - Mar. 31, 2005 Jack, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, was born in Quinton, Oklahoma and moved to California in 1942. It was in Shafter where he met the love of his life, Arvilla. Although both were originally from the tiny town of Quinton, they did not meet until both had moved to California. They were married on December 30, 1946. Jack was a bus driver for the Richland School District for 33 years. He was well loved by those he worked with and by the children that rode his bus. After he retired in 1983, former students who were now grown and had children of their own often approached Jack. They would shout Hi! Jack, I used to ride your bus. He would always smile and ask them how they were doing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bertha Harris and eleven siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Arvilla; son, Dannie and his wife, Sheryl; granddaughter, Jenny, grandson, Jason and granddaughter, Danee Parks and husband, Brian and great- grandson, Tyler of San Diego. His lone surviving sibling is his sister, Dulcia who lives in Susanville, CA with her husband, Jim Frizzel. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews too numerous to list and their families who often referred to Jack as their favorite Uncle. He will be missed by many friends and neighbors. Jack was ready to meet his Savior and told his family it was time for him to go home. He always put his family first and never wanted to be a burden. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
