Lavena E. Hatcher 
1906 - 2005 

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., 
in the Shafter Cemetery for Lavena E. Hatcher, 98, who died June 5, in a 
Bakersfield convalescent hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Hatcher was 
a native of Ector, Texas, and had lived here for the past 40 years. She was a 
homemaker most of her life. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Cecil 
Hatcher and a granddaughter, Jeannie Upchurch. She is survived by her only 
daughter, Jewell Upchurch and her husband, Lloyd; her granddaughter, Linda 
Clements and her husband, Chuck; great-granddaughters, Lisa Clements and her 
husband, David and Lori Moore and her husband, James; great-great-
granddaughter, Mikayla Moore; great-great-grandsons, Justin Moore and Liam 
Feeney. Visitation Wednesday from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m., in the Mission Family 
Mortuary.
