Muriel May Stein
Nov. 29, 1938 – March 3, 2005

A memorial service was held Monday, May 7, at the United Methodist Church in 
Ridgecrest for Muriel May Stein, 66, who passed away on March 3 at her home in 
Bear Valley Springs.

Muriel was born on Nov. 29, 1938 in Portland, Ore. to Ronald and Marjorie 
Hein. She was a resident of Tehachapi since 1986 and a previous resident of 
Ridgecrest, where she was self-employed as a legal assistant.

Muriel is survived by her husband, Roger Stein of Bear Valley Springs; son, 
Brent Stronge and wife Tracy of Ventura; daughter, Leslie Monahan and husband 
Rich of Rocklin; step-sons, Craig Stein and wife Heather of Benicia and Mark 
Stein and wife Cathy of Walnut Creek; step-daughter, Resa Hess and husband Joe 
of Ridgecrest; 13 grandchildren; mother, Marjorie Hein and sister, Nancy 
Buchanan, both of Oregon.

Dr. Edward E. Jayne officiated at the service. Interment followed at the 
Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Westside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the 
arrangement.
