Gabina Martinez (Gabby) 
February 18, 1941 - July 1, 2005 

Visitation for Gabina 'Gabby' Hernandez Martinez will be held at Basham 
Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Thursday, July 7, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. 
and graveside services will be held at Arvin Cemetery, Friday, July 8, 2005 at 
10:00 a.m. Gabby was born February 18, 1941, in Tamablipas, Mexico, and she 
passed away on July 1, 2005 in Bakersfield, CA. She was known as Mom to her 
grandchildren and Gabby to her friends. Gabina was preceded in death by her 
first husband, Ruben Hernandez and a special mom Grace Jones; Mom will also be 
joining her longtime pastor and friend David McDade. Our beloved mom is 
survived by 2 children from her first marriage, daughter and son-in-law, Orfa 
and Galdino Machado, Sr. and their 2 children, Galdino, Jr., Mathew, and 
Martha; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Debbie Hernandez and their daughters, 
Naomi, Stephanie, Marissa, Mayra, and great-granddaughter, Victoria; she is 
also survived by her husband, Luis Martinez and their son, Luis Miguel 
Martinez and his daughters, Kaitlyn and Genavie; 2 special friends, Ruth 
McDade and her daughter, Ruthie Craig. Mom leaves to mourn her passing by 
numerous other family members and friends. She was loved by all that knew her. 
We love you and will miss you dearly. You are in great hands mom, your home.
