Lora was a Valentines Day present for Toby and Marie Boel, both Danish immigrants. Born in Reno, Nevada, Lora spent her schools years in Fresno, California graduating from Fresno High School and briefly attended Fresno State before World War II interrupted her schooling. In 1944 she met the love of her life, R.A. (Bob) Hildebrand. They were married on March 3rd, 1945 in Tempe, Arizona. Settling down in Bakersfield, California to a life as a housewife and homemaker, Lora was the anchor for her family and husband whose farming and ranching operations extended from California to Arizona and Utah. On January 2, 1949, her son, Jeff was born and on June 17, 1951, her daughter, Bridget Marie arrived to make her family circle complete. For the past 40 years, she divided her time between residences in Bakersfield and Pebble Beach, California. Lora was an accomplished golfer and a crack shot, who most often out shot the other members in her hunting party. Lora's greatest joy came in her kitchen where she was a "culinare extraordinaire". She often served an entirely homemade 5-course dinner to as many as twenty people. Lora was the toast of many a dinner party for a large group of friends in both Bakersfield and Pebble Beach. Her husband, Bob and her brother, Mark preceded Lora in death. Lora is survived by her two brothers, Ralph Boel (Helen Boel) of Shafter, CA; and Hal Boel (Jan Boel) of Sacramento, CA; her daughter, Bridget Marie Hildebrand Booth (James Booth) of Carmel Valley, CA; her son, Jeff Hildebrand (Jane Hildebrand) of Bakersfield, CA; two grandchildren Bob and Marie Hildebrand of Bakersfield CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and treasured friends. Lora's person, palate and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her soul is with God and her spirit lives in the hearts of her beloved family and friends. Respecting Loras wishes, there will be no memorial service. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to Lora's favorite charity, Valley Children's Hospital (now known as Children's Hospital of Central California), 9300 Valley Children's Place, in Madera, CA 93638, or a charity of your choice.
