Hough March 17, 1943 - May 21, 2005 Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2005, at 12 noon, at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Rd., in Orange, CA. Robert A. Hough was born March 17, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Mary Hough. The family moved to Anaheim, California in early 1950 where he grew up. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in July 1960 and became a jet mechanic/plane captain. He was discharged in July 1964 as a Corporal. After leaving the Marines he worked in a variety of jobs untilhe became a Santa Ana policeman in 1968. This was the beginning of a long career in law enforcement. Bob enrolled in the Fullerton Law School and received his LLB in 1974. Bob rejoined the Marines as a 1st Lt. JAG (Judge Advocate General) in July 1975 where he met and married his loving wife, Ann. He was discharged as a Captain in June of 1978. After being released from active duty he was hired by Kern County in 1979 as a Deputy District Attorney. Bob spent 24 years with the DAs office and worked in most of the legal subsections as a prosecuting attorney wher ehe enjoyed a very successful career protecting the citizens of Kern County. Bob spent his leisure and vacation time traveling and visiting family. He liked to spend time in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Laughlin and Reno beating the odds playing Black Jack and the Slots. He also liked vacationing with family in the Pacific NW at the family lake place and snow skiing in the winter. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 29 years, Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Karen. He is survived by his brother, Richard T. Hough of Albuquerque NM; and his nieces, Kelly Prasser (Mike, Kennedy and Christian) San Diego, CA; Kim and Sandy Oden, Anaheim, CA; Kristina Runyan (Jeff, Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Zachery) Henderson, NV; Kassandra Jones (Jonathan and Katrina) Anaheim, CA; Erica Crandall (Ashley, Cody and Otis) Albuquerque, NM; and his nephew, Matthew Oden, Anaheim, CA. Bob went peacefully after a three year struggle with cancer. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. At Bobs request, there will be no public services held.
