He worked for many years at the Union 76 Station on California and Stockdale, and then moved on to become a welder for Ken Small. He received his truck driving license and began driving long haul across the country. Missing his family, he began working locally, driving for Pence Petroleum. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Howard and Rachael Bailey; brothers, Harold and Gene Russie and his first daughter, Dawn Jeanette Howard. Rick loved the desert and the beach. He was a member of the AMA District 37 and was a Super Senior Magnum. His passion was motorcycles and desert racing. He enjoyed his children and his grandchildren. The Howard family would like to thank the Desert Incident Response Team (D.I.R.T.), the California City Police and Fire Department and a special thank you to Officer Jack Craig who was injured while trying to save Ricks life. Please join us in celebrating Ricks new life with the Lord. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Howard family, through Mission Family Mortuary.
