(Nervous Ed) 1921 - 2005 Edward P. Jackson (Nervous Ed) Dec. 10, 1921 - Nov. 23, 2005 Ed was born December 10, 1921 in Bakersfield, CA and passed away November 23, 2005 in Visalia, CA. Ed graduated from KCUHS in 1940. At 17 years of age he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a 2nd Lt. He performed duties as a B-17 Navigator and Bombardier. He flew 15 combat missions, totaling 150 combat hours. Ed was overseas 2 years with the 8th Air Force, based in England: 16 months of that time was spent as a POW in Germany. Ed was honorably discharged as a Captain. Returning home Ed met and married June, his wife of 60 years. Ed had many passions in life. He was an avid golfer, enjoying many rounds of golf with all of his AA buddies. He loved to visit golf shops, drink coffee at the bowling alley and to eat many varieties of ice cream. Ed was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous with over 30 years of continuous sobriety. His wry sense of humor and practical jokes will be missed by all. He touched many many lives and lived life to its fullest. He is survived by his wife, June; daughters, Cathy Sullivan and Karla Locklear; grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Lexi and Lora; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd and Earl. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2005, 1:00 p.m., at the Alano Club, 1001 34th Street. A potluck will be held immediately following the service.
