Jackson, Betty Jean    
 
Betty passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a short illness 
on March 16, 2006. Comfort lies in the truth that Betty had accepted the Lord 
and is now in Heaven. Betty was born August 17, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa to 
Arthur and Lena Crosier. She married Bill Jackson in 1947. After the birth of 
their first child, Pam, the family relocated to California. It was here that 
they welcomed the birth of their sons, Tom and Pat. In 1963, the family 
endured a tragic loss with the death of Bill. Although times were hard without 
Bill, Betty remained strong during the years. Raising her children by herself, 
she was a homemaker, a friend and eventually a grandma and great grandma. 
Betty moved to Bakersfield in 1978 to be closer to the family and help with 
her grandchildren. Betty will always be remembered for her sweet and kind 
spirit. She loved animals. Especially cats and she always said they were 
wonderful company. Betty also loved working crossword puzzles, tending to 
roses and eating chocolate. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Bill. 
She is survived by her loving family members, her daughter, Pam Gates; son and 
daughter-in-law, Tom and Debbie Jackson; son and daughter-in-law, Pat and 
Colleen Jackson; grandchildren, Tiffany and her husband Tom, Amanda and her 
husband Joel and Haley Jackson; stepgrandchildren, Shauna and Sheree and great 
grandchildren, Taylor and Tessa. The family would like to express their 
deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff at California Care and Optimal 
Hospice. Thank you for loving and caring for Betty. Betty will be laid to rest 
next to her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pomona, CA on Saturday 
afternoon, March 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. John 14:1-6
