Born June 14, 1925, in Newport, Arkansas, Joseph "Joe" Jackson went to be with the Lord Jesus on April 11, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Dolly Jackson and sister, Ursula McElyea. He was the 4th in a family of nine children. He has six brothers and one sister living. Joe left behind Myrtle, his loving and faithful wife of 57 years, 4 daughters and 2 sons. Daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and David Payne, Roslyn and Paul McEuin, Patricia Jackson and Betty Jackson; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Peggy Jackson, Stoney and Mary Jackson. He had 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Joe worked most of his life on the farm. He was a loving Husband, Daddy and Papa. He loved having his family around him. Fishing and hunting were some of the things he loved doing. He was a member of the Harvest Free Will Baptist Church, and loved being with his church family. The family would like to thank our Pastor, Bro. Kurt Lindgren and his wife, Sis. Kim, Dr. Kopelman and Dr. Nyitray, the staff at Bakersfield Heart Hospital and the Hospice Personnel that helped take care of Daddy. The family would also like to give a special thanks to moms niece and husband, Bobbie and John Bronkhorst.
