Don was born July 28, 1952, in Bakersfield, CA to Julien Jensen Jr. and Gene Hurley Jensen. Dons father, Julien, deceased, was a graduate from UCLA, working as an insurance agent, helping to create KIA Insurance Co. His mother, Gene, was a graduate from Stanford, majoring in geology. She became a teacher at West High School in Bakersfield. Don graduated from West High School in 1970, and soon thereafter, married Annette Kapral. The family moved to Santa Cruz, CA, where a son, Luke was born. Luke Jensen, Dons only child, is attending college in the Bay area. Luke also has a half sister, Shinead Quinn. Don had two sisters, Janet Colleen Jensen Pyeatt of Templeton, CA, who is a CPA in San Luis Obispo County, and Patrice Marie Jensen Schwartz of Fremont, CA, who is a teacher in Alameda County. Don was employed by Granite Construction Company of Watsonville, CA, as a Network Engineer for the companys entire operations in the United States. This position was the best decision of his life. For a few years he was based in Texas, because of its central location. When Granite received a job, it was Dons responsibility to establish computer and phone lines for their temporary locations. Don had the brilliant and technical mind to do just that. He made many loyal friends throughout the company and was respected by all. Dons illness led to his return to California. He purchased a home in Hollister, and continued to work until December of 2004 when he retired. From December on, he was the same smart, wonderful, fun loving man he had always been. He was caring, and thought more about others, than himself. He was a great person to know.
