Rachel V. Threewits 
July 18, 1910 - May 19, 2005 

Our loving mother has passed from this life at age 94. She is preceded in 
death by two sisters, Grace Newell and Goldie Logan, and one brother, Arthur 
Jett. She is survived by her five children, Darlene Subriar, Darrell Stevens, 
Joy Shelgren, Alton Stevens and Gail Shepherd; two sisters, Hazel Mathis of 
Bakersfield and Helen Bishop of Twenty-Nine Palms; thirteen grandchildren and 
eighteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rachel has been 
a longtime resident of Bakersfield and will be greatly missed by her family 
and friends. Services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2005, 11:00 a.m., at 
Kern River Mortuary, 1900 N. Chester Ave.
