Keller Services: July 2, 10:30 a.m. Services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., for Clyde L. Keller, 87, of Bakersfield, who passed away June 29, 2005 in Bakersfield. Visitation will be today (Friday) from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary. Mr. Keller was born February 19, 1918 in Maynardville, Tennessee and had been a resident of Kern County for 68 years. He had been an Oil Rig Operator for 45 years. Clyde was a member of the Columbus Street Southern Baptist Church and a veteran of W.W.II. He achieved the rank of sergeant and served bravely for his country in the U. S. Army for almost five years. Clyde loved his family most of all and is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruth; daughter - Karen Groves and husband, Dave; sons - Edwin Keller and Kevin Keller and wife, Monica, all of Bakersfield. He was blessed with loving grandchildren, Aaron and wife, Krissy Groves, Ryan and wife, Britney Groves and Scott Brown, serving in the U. S. Army. He was further blessed with great grandchildren, Hunter Groves and one on the way. Clyde is also survived by his brothers - Charles Keller and family, Ray and Maxine Keller and family; sister - Lonetta Johnson and family, along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Earl, who was lost during W.W.II, sisters - Lena and husband, Charlie Emerson of Wasco, Ima and husband, Sheldon Frost of Bakersfield; and brother-in-law - Roy Johnson of Bakersfield. Clyde was looking forward to his Lord welcoming him home. We believe He will say "Welcome home thou good and faithful servant", as he loved his Lord with all his heart.
