Kephart went to be with the Lord after a long battle with diabetes on April 12, 2005. Chapel services will be Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary. Jim was born March 6, 1951 in Bakersfield. Jim loved to be with his family. At the age of fourteen he dedicated his life to the Lord. He spent 3 years with Campus Crusade for Christ as a young man. Jim went to Ottawa University of Kansas in the late 1970s. He worked for Safeway where he met the love of his life, Bonnie Sue Kirkland. Jim and Bonnie wed April 6, 1979, and moved to Bakersfield in 1982, where Jim worked in the family business with his father and brothers. Later he worked for the Housing Authority before starting his career as an Insurance Agent for Farmers Insurance in 1988. Jim was a member of the Citizens Service Unit for the Kern County Sheriffs Department. He was also a member of Town and Country Baptist Church where his Dad is pastor. Jim joins his brothers, Brian and Steven in heaven. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Bonnie Kephart; his children, Saijo Bryan and husband, Harold, Jeremy Kephart, Ryan Kephart and Jessica Kephart; mother and father, Jim and Claudine Kephart; brothers, Michael and Greg Kephart; sister, Kara Kephart; and his beloved Granny Sherwood. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alyson, Alex, Chelsea, Caitlyn and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and friend. We will never stop missing you. You will always and forever be in our hearts. Jimbo, this Easter, you told me the Lord will call you home soon. 26 years or 126 years, it would never be enough. I'll wait to be with you again, my love. BONNIE Pallbearers will be Ryan Kephart, Mike Kephart, Greg Kephart, Harold Bryan, Terry Curtis and Sat Pal Singh.
