He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 18, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, at University Baptist Church, 2515 Church Ave., with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph, and his first wife, Sharon. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn and his loving daughters, Lori Peters and husband, Keith, Lisa Meier and husband, Dennis; and his grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Mark, Michele, Morgan and Mekayla Peters and Kristin and Justin Meier, who were his pride and joy, and his brother, John Knight and wife, Amy. Also his stepson, Richard Little and wife, Cris and stepdaughter, Donna Edward and Glen, their children, Brian Little, Derek McCabe, Aimee Hauber and husband, Jim, and their children, Darci and Chelsea Little and Dalton and Donovan Hauber. Norman served for two years in the Army in Paris. He was employed by Chevron Oil, retiring after 31 years. Norman was a life member of the Model T Ford Club of America and a member of the Kern County Model T Club who he considered part of his family. He also was a member of the Horseless Carriage Club, the Western Gaslight 1 and 2 Cylinder Touring Register and the Skagit/ Snohomish Regional Group in Washington. He loved touring with the friends he made on these tours over the years. You could always count on Norman to be the first to volunteer to help others with their Ts and vintage cars. He was a member of the University Baptist Church and spent many hours helping with projects at the church. He also helped Walter Koch with the restoration of the Fox Theater Clock and the Beale Clock. He also enjoyed square dancing before his illness and was a member of the Whirlaways Square Dance Club. He was also a longtime member of United Commercial Travelers. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity. The family wishes to express appreciation to Margaret Roberts of Alternative Care and Lori Callahan of Optimal Hospice for their wonderful care.
