Pastor Mike Kotrla of the Congregational Church will officiate and interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park. Sandra was born March 14, 1953, in Goessel, Kansas to Wallace and Bertha Koop. The family moved to Shafter when Sandra was 3 years old and she grew up in Shafter attending Maple School and graduating from Shafter High School with the class of 1971. She attended Fresno Pacific College and later transferred to University of Southern California where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1976. She was the top accounting student of her class and was the first female to be a recipient of the Arthur Young Award. She married her high school sweetheart, Ted Wiedmann on June 16, 1973, in Visalia and after school they made Shafter their home. She worked 2 years to finish her requirements for her CPA license, and then began her 25 year career running the Stringham's Shafter Drug Store. She was efficient and a problem solver, she was loved by her extended Store Family. Sandy loved to entertain and decorate the house for the seasons, Christmas being her favorite. Her other hobbies included reading, shopping, and travel. She was a member of the Shafter Congregational Church and the church choir; Sandy loved music and enjoyed playing the organ and piano at home. She was also very active in the Shafter community serving a term as president in the Shafter Chamber of Commerce and a member for many years; she was also on the Shafter Planning Commission. Sandy was a Pharmaceutical Technician and a Travel Agent. Sandra is survived by her husband, Ted of Shafter; parents, Wally and Bertha Koop; mother and father-in-law, Mert and Pat Wiedmann all of Shafter; son, Brad and wife, Dania of Troy, Alabama and Don Wiedmann of Camarillo, CA; daughter, Angie Mack and husband, David of Stockton; brother, Ron Koop and wife, Susan of Visalia; sisters, Janet Tindall and husband, Mark of Porterville and Diann Potter and husband, Steve; sister-in-law, Lynn Taylor and husband, Allen of Fresno; and many other loving family members.
