Krause Services: Mon., May 16, 11:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2005, at 11:30 a.m., in the Blue Chapel at First Assembly of God, 4901 California Avenue for Rev. Lawrence D. Krause. Pastor Krause stepped into the glorious presence of the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2005. Lawrence was born to Jack and Maude Krause on September 9, 1913, in the city of Bakersfield and graduated from Kern Union High School (Bakersfield High School). He met and married Ruth Ann Spencer while attending Full Gospel Tabernacle (First Assembly of God) where he was a charter member. Ruth and he were married for 67 years. She was the love of his life and he grieved for her since her passing in 2000. He was a minister with the Assemblies of God for 60 years and pastored churches in Bakersfield, Medford and Grants Pass, Oregon. He and Ruth traveled to Salt Pond, Ghana, Africa where they taught in the Assemblies of God Bible School for one year and also conducted seminars in Chili, South America. He was an accomplished violinist and played with the Grants Pass, Oregon symphony orchestra. His most outstanding atttribute was that he loved God profoundly and was a student of the Word of God. He memorized whole books of the Bible and could tell you chapter and verse where many Scriptures were found. He was known for his kindness and caring spirit. He loved to give, especially to World Missions. Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his mother and father, Jack and Maude; and stepmother, Ella; sisters, LaVel Crawford, Eloise; great- granddaughter, Kindle and daughter-in-law, Norma. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Summers and Velda Sullivan of Bakersfield and his son, Lawrence (Buddy) of Richland, Washington; six grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren; sisters, Velda Luper and Carolyn Tomlinson; brothers, Jack and Kenneth, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and viewing will be Sunday, May 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Assembly of God, World Missions.
