Alice Kreisle 
July 30, 1931 - May 25, 2005 

Alice May Kreisle of Bakersfield died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, of cancer, at 
her home in Bakersfield. Born July 30, 1931 in Atascadero, CA, she lived in 
Bakersfield most of her life. Alice attended local schools, graduating from 
East High School in 1949. She then went to nursing school in Fresno, 
graduating and becoming a registered nurse in 1952. She worked at medical 
facilities around California before settling in Bakersfield. She served as 
Parish Nurse at First Christian Church, Bakersfield for many years and was 
instrumental in setting up a nursing program at the church that involved 
comforting parishioners and their families facing illnesses and surgery, 
counseling with parishioners regarding their individual health issues, and 
administering basic medical services such as blood pressure screening. She is 
survived by her sister, Betty Schmalle and husband, William Schmalle of 
Fresno, CA; nephew, Robert Schmalle, wife, Janine and grand-nephew, Ryan of 
Fresno, CA, and nephew, William Schmalle, wife, Cathy, grand-niece, Jennifer 
and grand-nephew, James of Martinez, CA. Alice was preceded in death by her 
brother, Albert in 1996, mother, Eda in 1984 and father, Albert in 1967. A 
memorial service for Alice will be held Sunday, June 5, 2005, at 2 p.m., at 
First Christian Church, 1660 S Street, Bakersfield. A graveside burial service 
was held on Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Bakersfield.
