A memorial service was held Monday, April 18, at Summit Christian Fellowship with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. Born March 30, 1951 at Camp Joseph H. Pendleton Naval Hospital in San Diego County, Bruce was raised in the South Bay area of Southern California. He served his country as a combat-medic in United States Army during the Vietnam era. Bruce was a “people person,” always knowing how to give reassurance and comfort to those around him. He was generous and kind, giving the “shirt off his back” and willing to “take a bullet” if needed. He was passionate about sports, loved reading and was a skilled musician. He moved and spent time in Oregon, later moving to Washington state where he met his best friend, Susan, whom he married Nov. 5, 1988. Bruce is survived by his wife Susan Kuhn and daughters Meghan and Michele Kuhn of Tehachapi; mother Doris Solis of Tehachapi; son Justin Kuhn and granddaughter Destiny of Troutdale, Ore.; daughter Marilyn; brothers Charles Cooper of Tehachapi; Donald Kuhn of Virginia, Frank Kuhn of Redondo Beach and Gary Nilsson of Long Beach. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Although he struggled with several serious health issues during the last years of his life, he never lost his love for his family and friends, or his faith in God.
