She was born October 17, 1918 in Bakersfield. Her father, R.B. Lambert, was a young lawyer, and her mother, Louise Kruger Lambert, was a young Latin and Algebra teacher at Kern County Union High School. When Eloises birth was imminent they walked from their home to Mercy Hospital because they had no car. When Eloise was 8, her father was elected a Superior Court Judge, a position he held for six elective terms. Meanwhile, Eloise graduated from Franklin and Emerson schools where she and Joe Donat received the American Legion Award for good citizenship. Eloise went on to KCUHS where she was president of California Scholarship Federation. She was a graduate of Stanford University where she participated in many plays and won a Phi Beta Kappa key for scholarship. During World War II she headed the USO shows that entertained the military throughout San Diego County. In the 1950s she was a featured singer in theaters and nightclubs throughout the United States. In the 1950s and 60s she worked in Hollywood as an interviewer/writer for Young & Rubicam, an advertising company, interviewing stars of radio and television, including Alfred Hitchcock, Steve McQueen, Bette Davis, Paul Henried and many others. In 1980 she returned to Bakersfield to work on a dental patient newsletter that is distributed nationally. She wrote countless humorous lyrics and four novels one of which was published on the Internet. Eloise leaves her loving and devoted companion, Lawrence Ramey; devoted caregivers, Lupe Uribe and Claudia Russell; numerous friends including Camille Gavin, Donna Armstrong and Daisy Benham; Elaine Linden, Studio City; Elaine Park, Newport Beach; Connie Hazel, San Francisco; and a cousin, Ardis Dexter, Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a member of First Church of Religious Science but at her request there will be no services. The Neptune Society is handling the arrangements.
