She came to California in the 1940's where she met and married the love of her life, E.V. Landry, and raised her family. Hilda was involved in many community organizations. She was an active member for 71 years of Beta Sigma Phi Society; she attended every founder'sDay Celebration during this time. She was also a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary # 6601. Hilda worked and retired from the Kern High School District and was a secretary at North High School for many years. Education was very important to Hilda, she was also a lifetime member of the PTA. During retirement she worked in the floral and funeral business. Hilda was so much to so many people, a loving and devoted wife, Mother, Nana, Auntie and friend. She will be deeply missed by her son, Bill Landry and wife Susanne; niece, Cindy Prather and husband Lloyd; a multitude of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As Hilda entered the Kingdom of Heaven, She was greeted by her husband, E.V.; Son, Greg; Brothers Bill and Guy, and family and friends that passed before her. As a woman of great integrity, Hilda loved God, family and friends and she never knew a stranger. Her honesty and willingness to help anyone in need, set a Shining example to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at River Lakes Community Church, at the corner of Calloway and Hageman, on Wednesday January 25, 2006 at 10:00 am.
