Dorothy Mae Long 
May 1, 1922 - Dec. 19, 2005 

Private services were held for Dorothy Mae Long, 83, who died December 19, 
2005, in Bakersfield. Mrs. Long was born May 1, 1922 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and 
moved to Kern County with her family in 1925. She was employed for many years 
as a bookkeeper for various companies in the area, and was a member of Alpha 
Zeta, Gamma Beta Chapter in Bakersfield. Survivors include her daughters, 
Linda G. Myers of Oakhurst, CA, Sandra Ann Roberts of Jackson, CA, Roxanna 
King of Piedmont, SC; son, Thomas Allen Long of Bakersfield; 5 grandchildren, 
11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Hodson of Bakersfield; sisters, Mary 
Jane Koop of San Luis Obispo, CA and Bette Miller of Jacksonville, Oregon. She 
was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary (Pinkerton) Hodson and 
sister, Jean Varney.
