Kenneth was born February 12, 1926 in Fresno, California to Homer and Geraldine Lonon and he passed away March 22, 2006 in Bakersfield, California. Kenneth is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Melissa Lonon. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ona Lonon; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Janet Lonon; son and daughter- in-law, Dan and Debbie Lonon; grandchildren, Stephanie Newbold, Michael Lonon, Jason Lonon, Jennifer Cullip, Kelly Brown and Joey Lonon; great grandchildren, Anthony Cullip, Madison Hart, Drew Hart, Jacob Lonon and Bailey Lonon; brother, Eugene Lonon as well as numerous other relatives and many friends. As a child of the depression, Ken would never forget the work ethic of his youth. Selling newspapers as a boy of 9, as a caddy at Stockdale Country Club, as an usher at the Fox Theatre. Attending East Bakersfield High, he excelled at sports, but he left school early to join the Army Air Corps, serving as a B-17 Tail Gunner in WWII. After his Military service, Ken attended Long Beach City College and met his true love, Ona Spurlock. They would marry, have two sons and in 1959 relocate to Bakersfield where Ken worked as a Drilling Fluids Engineer, spending 45 years serving the oil and gas industry. Ken loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and especially golf. He enjoyed associations with Bakersfield Country Club, Missing Links, PPGA, traveling with his bride to their seaside home in Morro Bay and to many exciting golf destinations.
