Jan. 12, 1:00 p.m. Lucille Lopez passed away and into the arms of our Savior Saturday afternoon, January 7, 2006 at her home in Bakersfield, CA due to Alzheimers Disease. Born Lucille Myrna Aaron on July 8, 1920, she was 85 years old at the time of her passing. Lucille is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joe; her son Rick; her grandchildren, Denise Lopez, Mike Lopez, and Julie Mora; her nine great grandchildren, Tommy Hall, Daniel Shibata, Mike Lopez, Amber Lopez, Heather Lopez, Chelsey Mora, Tyler Mora, Brooke Mora and Brandon Mora. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Bev Lopez, granddaughter-in-law, Karen Lopez and her grandson-in-law, Paul Mora; and her sisters-in-law, Marge Aaron and Margaret Long. Her parents, Mary and Julius, her stepfather, Bob, her sister Margaret, her brothers Larry, Ben, and Jim and her grandson Steve preceded Lucille in death. Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Chatsworth, CA, Lucille was also a long-time resident of San Fernando, CA and a devoted volunteer at Saint Ferdinands Catholic Church. In 1990, Lucille and her husband moved to Bakersfield, CA. The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the compassionate care Lucille received from the hospice staff of Health Care Odyssey in Bakersfield. There will be a viewing at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, 11160 Stranwood Avenue, Mission Hills, CA on Thursday, January 12, 2006 from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. Services will also be held at the Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimers Disease Association. Lucille will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her but will remain forever in our hearts and in the arms of our Savior.
