A Military service with full honors will be held at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, CA, on Friday, January 6, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Born August 11th, 1931, in Covington, Kentucky, Bob later settled in Bakersfield, CA where he met and married Linda J. Morris. Linda was Bobs bride for thirty-seven years. A graduate of Bakersfield Junior College and California State University Bakersfield, Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War as the flight engineer of a VP47. He then began a very successful career in law enforcement, first from 1959 to 1965 as a Patrolman and Desk Sergeant with the Bakersfield Police Department, then from 1965 to 1975 with Kern County Probation as a Deputy Probation Officer and Supervising Probation Officer. In 1975 Bob moved to Red Bluff to serve as Chief Probation Officer with Tehama County Probation. He retired with honors from this position in 1981. Very involved in community service, Bob once served as president of the Red Bluff Rotary, was a member of the Tehama County Peace Officers Association, the Los Molinos Post 3909 of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, and the Tehama County Republican Central Committee. He was especially proud of his contributions as the founder and Administrator of the Literacy Council of Tehama County (Learning Center) from 1982 to 2002. The pleasures of his life were genealogy, fishing, traveling and the companionship of his beloved dogs and cats. Bob is survived by his wife, Linda J. Lucas of Red Bluff; a sister, Lois Adams of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Celia and John Andrade of Sacramento; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Andrea Lucas of Sacramento; and son, Jeremy Lucas of San Francisco; grandchildren, Brian Amble, John Reyes, Crystal Reyes, Victoria Lucas, and Sophia Lucas, and one great-grandchild, Kaylen Amble.
