Marian Joyce Lundy

Services: Thurs., Jan. 5, 10 a.m. 

Joyces journey began in Kansas as the youngest of seven children. In the early 
30s she and her family made the hard journey west and settled in Bakersfield. 
Joyce attended EBHS, BC and later when Cal State opened she completed her 
education in the early 70s while raising her family. Mom had a close 
relationship with the Lord. Through the years she attended many churches and 
then found her church family at Chester Avenue Community Church with Pastor 
Keith Fultz. Joyces biggest joy came from loving her children, grandchildren 
and great-grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her sister, Bennie Smith of 
Oregon; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tony Avanzo of Great Falls MT; son 
and daughter-in-law, Mark and Darlene Lundy of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, 
Kacie, Shannon Kyle and Natalie; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Juliana and 
Zachary. Mom was blessed with having lifelong friends, Shirley Erquhart, Helen 
Austin and Edith Reid. Mom also leaves behind her beloved nephew, Ben Palmer 
and wife, Nancy; niece, Sonja Palmer and many generations of nieces, nephews 
and cousins. Services are scheduled for Thursday, January 5th, at 10:00 a.m., 
at Chester Avenue Community Church, 1509 So. Chester. Joyce was a wonderful, 
caring and loving mom who will be dearly missed. Joyces journey ended December 
11, 2005, when she passed in her sleep. She is now reunited with the many 
loved ones that wait for her.
