Ramon Gonzalez Lara
April 6, 1930 - March 24, 2005

Visitation for Ramon Gonzalez Lara will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 
Niles Street) on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from 5:00 8:00 p.m. with Rosary 
beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of 
Guadalupe on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at 
Hillcrest Memorial Park. 

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Isabel and Bruno; sisters, 
Sesaria, Jesus, Paula and Francisca; son-in-law, Mark Ornelas and stepson, 
George Navarette; Ramon was born in Big Springs, Texas to Isabel and Sesaria 
Lara. Ramon was the youngest boy of 12 children. Ramon grew up in Texas, on a 
ranch, where he loved riding horses and tending to the animals. Ramon met and 
married his first wife, Socorro in 1955. From this marriage came 5 children, 
Sera Ronquillo, Carmen (Mark) Gonzales, Frank (Joanne) Lara, Nolberta Ornelas, 
Martin (Rita) Lara. From his second wife, Hortencia; 3 stepchildren, Rosie 
(Jesse) Hernandez, Norma (Nick), Nora (Ban); son, Jaime (Nancy) Lara.

Ramon lived most of his life in California working as a farm laborer. He loved 
to plant and work on his garden. Dad loved his family and loved getting 
together, eating and barbequing and he loved his musica ranchera and his 
guitar. Dad will be greatly missed for his witty sense of humor. 
Dad,/Grandpa/Great-Grandpa will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For additional service of floral
