Our Honey had a long and spirited life. LaVerne was born in Iola, Kansas and grew up and attended school in Vinita, Oklahoma. She married Curtis Clifford Bond, Pop, during World War II and enjoyed 63 wonderful years with him. They have resided in Bakersfield for the past 45 years. LaVerne and Curtis owned and operated the Oildale Fosters Freeze for 33 years. She touched many lives over the years and was a shining light for all. She was our angel and her love will fill our hearts forever. Honey always graced us with a smile as she dedicated her life to loving her family and friends. She will forever be remembered and never be forgotten. LaVerne is survived by her loving husband, Curtis Bond; brother, Lorraine Larson of Grove, Oklahoma; two (2) wonderful daughters, Eleanor Jane Cantrell (husband Bill) of Kernville, CA and Elaina June Bond-Stafford of Bakersfield, CA; six (6) beautiful grandchildren: LaDonna Jackson (husband Stephen), Valorie Mayer (husband Peter), Brandon Bond (wife Krystal), Jennifer Lee, Jaime Bond, and Casey Stafford; as well as ten (10) great-grandchildren: Michael, Sarah, Bryan, Bradley, Alicia, Amy, Caiden, Blake, Bryan, and Josh. She is also survived by Randy Bond and Linda Ferguson and families. Her family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and staff of Memorial Hospital for their care and support during her short stay.
