Lee 9/16/1925 - 7/28/2005 Mr. David Lee, passed away July 28, 2005 after a short battle with cancer. He was a long time resident of Bakersfield and was proud of his thirty-plus year career as a Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist. His friends and acquaintances know that he loved telling stories about his college and military past. He left his home in South Dakota to volunteer for the Navy during World War II. The Navy chose to send him to college instead of the front line. He received two Bachelors of Science degrees and two Master degrees, including the first master degree for nuclear physiology. While studying for his doctorates degree at Berkeley, he was drafted by the Army for the Korean War. After the war, David Lee married Jean Williamson and moved to Bakersfield. There he raised his twin daughters, Laura Jean and Patricia Ann. He lived a full and happy life. In his later years he was identified by many as the nice old man on the block. He will be remembered for his pipe, his beer and story telling. Mr. David Lee is preceded in death by his wife, Jean.
