Helen (Noni) Lemucchi Mee 
1919 - 2005 

Noni died peacefully after suffering the tragic illness of Alzheimers. She was 
a native of Bakersfield, attended Lincoln Elementary School, Kern County Union 
High School, and San Jose State College. Noni is preceded in death by her 
parents, Joe and Emelia Lemucchi, pioneers of East Bakersfield who founded 
Lemucchis Grocery and Deli; sister, Lena Barbeau; brothers, Louis (Luigi) and 
Harry Lemucchi; grandson, Farrow Heycock; and her husband, Tom Mee. She is 
survived by her daughters, Lani Ray and Patti Best; grandchildren, Will Smith, 
Regan Smith Means, Shaun Mee, and Tyler Best; her great-grandchildren, and her 
nieces and nephews. Noni lived life to the fullest. She loved to entertain and 
to be surrounded by family and friends. She will be remembered for her 
intuitive sense of style, her generosity, her wry sense of humor, and her 
winning smile. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nonis life at a 
dinner to be held in her honor, Tuesday, August 16, at Luigis Restaurant, at 
7:00 p.m. Her family would like to thank Nonis caregivers at Silvercrest 
Manor, St. Francis Church Ministry, and Optimal Hospice. In lieu of flowers 
donations may be made to St. Francis Church, Optimal Hospice or the Alzheimers 
Association in Nonis behalf. Inquiries may be made to Davis Rose Funeral Home,
