Ruth Virginia Thomason
May 18, 1919 - April 16, 2005

Visitation for Ruth Virginia Thomason will be held at Basham Funeral Care 
(3312 Niles St.) on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 from 5:00 8:00 p.m. and funeral 
services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Wednesday, April 
20, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Ralph Coffman of First Baptist Church of Edison 
will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. 

Ruth Thomason was born May 18, 1919 in Linton, Indiana and she went home to be 
with the Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2005 in Bakersfield, California. Ruth is 
survived by her 6 children, Barbara King, Ron Oates, Teresa Bozeman and Terry 
Oates of Bakersfield, CA, Sherria Sloan of Cameron, Missouri and Gary Oates of 
Mexico City, Mexico; 1 brother, Stanley Lester of McFarland, CA and 1 sister, 
Louetta Zelenka of Montebello, CA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren 
and great- great-grandchildren; other family members and friends. 

Ruth retired as a Nurses Aide from Kern Medical Center (Pediatrics). She loved 
going to church and praising the Lord; being in the outdoors, especially 
sitting on the porch or out watering her roses. She loved her roses, her 
family and spending time with them. She was a loving mother and grandmother 
and will be missed by all that knew her. For additional service or floral
