All are welcome to attend. Ricky was born in Santa Cruz, California on November 26, 1955. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Kern County. They lived in and around Delano and McFarland until they moved into Bakersfield in 1965. Ricky attended Horace Mann, Wayside, Golden State Jr. High, and South High schools. He was married in 1975 and began working as an oil field roughneck. In 1990 he moved to Las Vegas and began working in construction. The reason for this move was so that he could be closer to his mother and several of his brothers and sisters who all lived in Las Vegas. He lived there until he moved back to Bakersfield in 1996. Ricky will be remembered as a very special person who loved his children dearly. Visitors to his home noted the special bond he had with his kids and how he always put them first in his life. He had a simple but unique personality, a big heart, and a great sense of humor; simply put, "he was just a good person to be around". Most who knew him will remember him as a person who made them laugh and feel good about themselves. Very rarely, if ever, did anyone have anything bad to say about Ricky! He had lots of friends and very few enemies. He is preceded in death by his father, Thurman, his younger sister, Gina, and his grandparents, Troy and Clara. He is survived by his three children: Richard, Crystal, and Jessica, his mother, Mildred, his five brothers: Mike, Danny, Gary, Terry, and Ronnie, his three other sisters: Diane, Sandy, and Tina. In addition, he leaves behind five grandchildren. Ricky was a fantastic person and will be missed by all who knew him. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
