He was born in Barstow, California on October 22, 1939. His family moved to Bakersfield when he was very young and he spent all of his time here. He attended East Bakersfield High School (class of 1958) and joined the Navy shortly thereafter. Following his military service, he joined the Kern County Sheriffs Department where he served for 29 years, retiring as a decorated Commander in 1992. Ken was a founding member of the Kern Law Enforcement Association and a member of the Footprinters, Eagles, Elks, Moose and Druids lodges. A 32nd degree Mason with the Caledonia Lodge #486, Ken was active with the Scottish Rite and Shriners Association. He held many offices in the Shriners and remembered his activities there with much happiness. An avid golfer, Ken was an advisory board member with Rio Bravo Country Club for many years. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Jane Lisenbee. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Ann Lisenbee of Statesboro, Georgia; sister, Bonnie Christie; daughter, Amy Lisenbee; son-in-law, Jason Lee and granddaughter, Sydney Lee, all of Bakersfield; nephew, Col. Don Lisenbee Jr. of Ft. Monroe, Virginia; niece, Cindy Molitor of Roswell, Georgia and niece, Pamela DAngelo of San Diego. Ken is also survived by his friend of over 25 years, Chris Davis and by his best friend for over 50 years, Peter Lewis, both of Bakersfield. Once Ken was your friend, he was your friend for life, and very rarely did he go anywhere that he didnt have a friend. He was an amazing father, a wonderful brother and a loyal friend. I had a great time, make sure and tell everyone that I had a lot of fun. So here you go Dad, I quoted you once again in public, and this time its in print. We all love you and will miss you.
