Madeline Olibarez Lomas 
6/8/1915 - 8/22/2005 

Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2005, at 7:00 p.m., at the Hopson-
Anspach Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 26, 2005, 
at 1:00 p.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church for Madeline Olibarez Lomas who 
passed away on August 22, 2005, in Bakersfield. Father Ralph Belluomini 
officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Madeline was born June 
8, 1915 to Florentino and Aurelia Olibarez in Bakersfield, CA. Madeline was 
married to Baldo Lomas on June 24, 1939. Madeline enjoyed playing Bingo and 
penny slot machines, she enjoyed gardening and crochet. She was a great cook 
and enjoyed telling stories of her past and she was addicted to the Tabloids 
and word searches. She was loved by everyone and she will be greatly missed. 
Madeline is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Baldo Lomas Sr.; 
brothers, Pete Olibarez, Robert Bobby Gardea, Guadalupe Lupe Olibarez; sister, 
Julia and husband, Joel Martinez; brothers-in-law, Steve Higuera, and Lee 
Castro. She is survived by her son, Baldo Lomas Jr.; brothers, Lawrence Babe 
Olibarez and wife, Lala, and Timmy Gardea; sisters, Esther Higuera, Charmaine 
and husband, Jimmy Sanchez, Delores Castro Kinkie, and Margaret Torres; 
granddaughter, Veronica Lomas; grandson, Steven Lomas; great-grandchildren, 
Bobby, Erica, Jessica and John John. We would like to give a special thanks to 
Kathy Olibarez for being there for her Tia Lena.
