Matilda Louise Blurton 
Mar. 26, 1934 - Sept. 2, 2005 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., 
at Canyon Hills Assembly of God, 7001 Auburn Street. A visitation will begin 
at 10:00 a.m., in the Fireside Room. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and 
friend. Affectionately known as Tillie to her friends and family, was born to 
Eugene and Winifred Lopez on March 26, 1934, in Ojai, California. Tillie lived 
in Bakersfield for over 20 years, married to her husband Marshall Glenn 
Blurton for over 43 years. Tillie loved to have family and friends around her. 
Well known for her big heart and love of people, whether cooking for her 
family or entertaining many. Tillie had many talents from cake decorating to 
floral design and most of all a huge heart and a warm hug for all who entered 
her home. Her surviving family includes her husband, Marshall Glenn Blurton; 
her children, Gordon Nielsen and his wife, Joyce of Kansas, Kimberley Nielsen 
of Chatsworth, CA, Brenda Lakin and her husband, Alan of Bakersfield; Teri Fay 
of Venice, CA, Cheri Lynn of Winnetka, CA; her sister, Marcella Spurlock and 
husband, Terry of Las Vegas, NV; and six grandchildren.
