Pearlie Toliver was the eighth child of fifteen children born to the union of the late McKinley and Anneis Lyons of Wasco, CA. She was born on June 27, 1934, in Texarkana, Texas, where she was raised. Pearlie attended and graduated from the famed all-black Dunbar high School in 1953. Her true delight was teaching and motivating countless children to read and write at Karl F. Clemens Elementary School, where she worked for 33 years as a Teachers Aide. Pearlie Mae Toliver leaves to cherish her memory and legacy her husband and partner, Sidney Toliver Jr. of Wasco, CA; six children, Sherman Toliver of Elizabethtown, KY; Annette Toliver of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Georgia Toliver of Oakland, CA; Lisa McGee of Wasco, CA; Valerie Toliver of Bakersfield, CA; and Anthony Toliver of Wasco, CA. Her eldest son, Morris Toliver preceded her in death in 1979. She also leaves to cherish her memory four sisters; Morre Blake of Berkeley, CA; Rosie McGill and Lola Herron of Wasco, CA; Katherine Levatia- Goneca of Pasadena, CA; and one brother, Melvin Lyons of Wasco, CA; also a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family. Thank you God for sending Pearlie Mae Toliver our way! Viewing and visitation is scheduled on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, from 6-8 p.m., in the Chapel of Beloved Care Funeral Services, 115 18th Street, with an additional viewing one hour prior to service time on Thursday.
