Steven was born November 12, 1981, in Bakersfield, CA, to Jacqueline E. (Ritchason) and Danny R. Lanser. He lived there for 14 years, and learned to play soccer there, which would become one of his greatest passions in life. He was close to his cousins and his grandparents were an important and central part of his life. Stevens greatest sorrow was when he lost his Grandma Honey. He was an excellent student who always excelled at his studies. He lettered in soccer at Big Sky High School, and was currently attending the U of M to study law; he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. Stevens greatest joys were playing and coaching soccer, snowboarding, playing and teaching chess, politics and law. He was affiliated with the LDS Church from childhood, he loved traveling, and one of his travels took him to France. His favorite places to go were Lake Tahoe, Pismo Beach, and Las Vegas. Steven always believed in living life to the fullest every day and every minute, making sure he always included his friends. He was generous and always giving to others. His proudest moments were of his soccer team and how well they played for him. He enjoyed expensive clothes and cigars and all the finer things in life. Steven was preceded in death by his grandmother Verlyn Honey Ritchason; Aunt Cindy Ann Marchi; great- grandmothers Myrtle Pickrull and Bernice Wise. Survivors include his mother and father, Jacqueline and Danny Lanser; sisters, Katherine and Courtney Lanser; brother, Matthew Lanser; brother-in-law to be, Christopher Stewart; niece, and nephew, Brooklyn Honey and Brandon Stewart; maternal grandfather, John Ritchason; paternal grandparents, John and Mildred Lanser; aunts and uncles, Chris, Darla, Daniel, Cuddy and Randy Ritchason and Nic, Randy, Wendy and Cindy Lanser, and numerous cousins. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Missoula, Montana. A reception will follow in the funeral homes community room. Pallbearers will be John Ritchason, Danny Lanser, Matthew Lanser, Katherine Lanser, Courtney Lanser, Christopher Stewart, and all his Sigma Nu Brothers. Interment will take place in Bakersfield, at a later date. Stevens life message to all was May you live every day of your life.
