Marquez January 18, 1929 - January 13, 2006 Visitation for Thomas L. Marquez will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 from 4 - 6 p.m. and a wake service will be held at Mount Vernon Apostolic Assembly Church (519 Mt. Vernon Avenue) Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning January 19, 2006 at Mount Vernon Apostolic Assembly Church at 10:00 a.m. and interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery (River Blvd.) Thomas L. Marquez went home to his Lord on January 13, 2006 with his loving wife and children at his side. He was born in Huntington Park, CA to Telesforo and Angelita Laguna Marquez and he was raised in Delano, CA. He met his wife, Mary Rodriguez in 1946 and they were married on September 4, 1948 and they were blessed with 8 children. Thomas was baptized in May of 1975 by Pastor Ray Lopez and he was an active and faithful member of Mount Vernon Apostolic Assembly Church. He held various official positions in the Men's department of the local, district and sector levels with pride and love for the Lord. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Telesforo Marquez; mother, Angelita Marquez Buslon; stepfather, Fernando Buslon; daughter, Estella Marquez and sisters, Linda Buslon and Virginia Walker. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Marquez; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Froilan Sanchez, Sandra and John Ramos, Susie and Richard Torrez; daughter, Liz Marquez; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Florence Marquez Jr., John and Irene Marquez; son, Edward Marquez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fernando and Stella Buslon and Frank and Irene Marquez; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty- three great-grandchildren and a very special friend, Gina Rodriguez. The Marquez family would like to express a special "THANK YOU" to the staff of Odyssey Hospice for their tender loving care and support as well as to our many friends and relatives for their prayers, words of encouragement and food.
