Martinez Jr. Aug. 14, 1942 - Nov. 21, 2005 Visitation for Manuel Jesus Martinez Jr. will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Sunday, November 27, 2005 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The Rosary and Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday morning, November 28, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Manuel was born August 14, 1942 in Arvin, California and he passed away November 21, 2005 in Bakersfield, California with his family by his side. Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carmen Martinez; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Chris Mobley; seven sisters; three brothers as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Manuel fought a courageous fight battling everyday just to spend one more day with his family. He enjoyed John Wayne movies and he was an animal lover. He also was an avid L.A. Dodger and St. Louis Rams fan. Manuel enjoyed traveling whenever he could. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be deeply missed. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Matuk and her staff as well as all of the other doctors and nurses who cared for Manuel during his 10 year illness.
