Walter McClanahan (Bob) 
12/27/1912 - 8/14/2005 

Walter Bob McClanahan, educator and retired Army Colonel, passed away August 
14, 2005, at Fort Collins, Colorado. Born on December 27, 1912, in Pilger, 
Nebraska, Bob and wife, Betty, were married there in 1939 and have four 
children, Michael, Patrick, Dennis and Diane. Bob is survived by his wife, 
Betty, children and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Bob retired from 
Bakersfield College as a Counselor and later Director of Admissions and 
Records. A student scholarship has been established at Bakersfield College and 
donations may be made through the Financial Aids Office.
