She was the sixth child of twelve born to Antonio and Dionicia Dominguez. She moved to Bakersfield in 1946. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She was a devoted wife for 33 years to Manuel Molina who preceded her in death on February 12, 1981. After being widowed for eleven years, she met a widower, Salvador Mendez, whom she married in 1992. She was extremely devoted to Sal, the second love of her life. They traveled, camped, took walks on the beach, they were inseparable. Minnie retired from the Bakersfield City School District after 17 years of service. She also worked for Hancock Fabric Store. She was a member of the Community Service Organization. Sewing was her favorite hobby, and she was proud of the fact that her daughter, Christine, inherited her passion for sewing. Minnie was the original Martha Stewart and she was always happy to share her expertise on sewing, arts, crafts, cooking and gardening. Her greatest passion was caring for her family, which she did until the very end. Minnie went home to Our Father to be reunited with her parents, her first husband, Manuel; sisters, Josephine Dominguez and Ophelia Romero; and brothers, Benjamin I, Benny, Tony and Hector Dominguez. Left behind to cherish her memory are beloved husband, Salvador; her daughter, Christine and son-in-law, Louis Perez; stepsons, Sal Molina, Manny Molina and family; grandchildren, Maury Perez and Michelle Miranda and husband Ray; great-grandchildren, Louis, Vanessa, Manuel, Eric, Ray II and Ashlee; stepchildren, Donald and Alice Mendez, Salvador Jr. and Jackie Mendez and MaryAnn and Rey Soto; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; her siblings are Paul Dominguez, Julieta Diaz, Veva Juarez, Jennie Alvarado and Carmen Cardiel; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd., on Thursday, February 9th, from 4-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Church, 1800 Bedford Way, Oildale, on Friday, February 10th, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and family and friends for their prayers.
